Work Experience
Caritas Internationalis, Advocacy Officer and Focal Point for Health and HIV

​2011 - present, Geneva (Switzerland)

 

The overall position’s objective is to give orientation, oversee, accompany and engage the 165 national member organisations of Caritas Internationalis in the implementation of the specific health-related orientations set by the General Assembly of Caritas Internationalis, as well as other relevant parts of the Caritas Internationalis Strategic Framework. To fulfil an inspiring, supporting, and guiding role for the benefit of the member organisations of Caritas Internationalis, this position includes responsibilities as Executive Secretary of the Caritas Internationalis Working Group on Health and HIV, as well as of the Caritas Internationalis Task Force on the Global Fund. 

Furthermore, the Focal Point for Health and HIV participates, in a targeted and dynamic manner, in activities of the United Nations, its related agencies, and other International Organizations as well as UN specialized agencies in order to:

  • Develop common strategies to reach specific national, regional, and international goals;

  • Represent the concerns and needs of the people served by members of Caritas Internationalis (165 national members in 200 States and territories of the world); and

  • Advocate for specific approaches and policies to be undertaken by the UN, its related agencies, and other International Organisations.

 

Main responsibilities include:

  • High-level representation before Governments, UN and International Organizations, private/public donors, and NGOs;

  • Short-, middle- and long-strategy planning, as well as planning implementation, monitoring and evaluation;

  • Facilitate and/or prepare studies and researches necessary to engage in the above-mentioned activities;

  • Organize conferences/seminars/training courses in conjunction with special UN events and/or at national, regional, and international level; and

  • Research, data gathering and processing.

 

Caritas Internationalis, Programme Assistant

​2009 - 2011, Geneva (Switzerland)

 

The position aims at promoting international networking, lobbying, advocacy, and experience exchange among Caritas Internationalis and other relevant stakeholders both in Geneva and abroad. Main responsibilities include:

  • Provision of logistical support and assistance to the advocacy and capacity-building activities of Caritas Internationalis;

  • Hands-on special and regular sessions of the UN Human Rights Council and other UN Agencies (WHO, ILO, WTO, UNAIDS);

  • Editing and presentation of statements;

  • Provision of logistical support and assistance in conjunction with conferences, training workshops and to the advocacy and capacity-building activities of Caritas Internationalis;

  • Research and communication;

  • Participation in relevant meetings and conferences at the United Nations and in other international structures.

 

VIDES International, Programme Coordinator.

​2006 - 2007, Mogyorod (Hungary)

 

The position aims at implementing a project designed to build peaceful relations between different cultural groups, Roma, Sinti, and Hungarian among others. The major objective of the project was to promote in fringe areas of Budapest cross-cultural groups’ discussion, sports groups, and theatre groups in order to strength mutual understanding and respect, and to solve cultural conflicts.

Main responsibilities include:

 

  • Strengthen multi- and cross-cultural networks in order to improve the life-condition of Roma and Sinti;

  • Research and communication;

  • Training on Human Rights and mutual cultural respect;

  • Launch the VIDES International Budapest Office in order to give sustainability to the project.
